The Flood
The Flood myth is one of the oldest events on Earth, and it is rooted in the language and tradition of the Serbian people. At the time around 3246 BC, 2246 years after the creation of the world, it was raining for five months and the water was 15 cubits high covering the hills. According to the testimony preserved in the Old Testament, the Flood was "sent by God to a sinful land and drowned the sinful human race in order to save only eight souls housed in an ark (boat).
“In the six hundredth year of Noah’s life, on the seventeenth day of the second month—on that day all the springs of the great deep burst forth, and the floodgates of the heavens were opened. And the rain fell upon the earth for forty days and forty nights…”
Veliki potop
Mit o velikom potopu jedna od najstarijih događaja je na Zemlji, a ukorenjen je u jeziku i u predanju srskog naroda. U vreme oko 3246. godine pre Hrista, 2246 godina od nastanka sveta, voda je lila pet meseci i pokrila brda za 15 lakata. Po svedočanstvu sačuvanom u Starom zavetu, potop je „poslan Bogom na grešnu zemlju i potopio grešni rod ljudski da bi se spaslo samo osam duša smeštenih u kovčegu (barki)“.
„Gospod je zatvorio vrata kovčega, posle čega, 600. godine Nojevog života, 17. dana drugoga meseca, razvališe se svi izvori velikog bezdana, i otvoriše se ustave nebeske, i udari dažd na zemlju za 40 dana“.
