Crveni Breg (Red Hill)
Crveni Breg is a mountain elevation nearly two kilometres long and it is in the village of Makovište. Below the hill flows beautiful river Skrapež. Most believe that Crveni Breg got such a name because it has red soil in its composition. There is little vegetation on it. The hill sand and pebble are red and the flint stone is dark reddish or chocolate in colour. When a fire hits that stone - a spark flashes! The soil is sandy. There is a clay almost red as blood anywhere on Crveni Breg. When it rains, it dissolves, it sticks to the shoes, and the river Skrapež turns red. It is difficult for grass to grow on Crveni Breg, and even if grows there, it quickly turns red under the sun.
Crveni breg
