Mrka Stena (Dark Rock) Viewpoint

The peak you are standing on got its name because of the brown, black rocks from which it is made. Legend has it that at the time of the creation of the world, a mountain bit the night in this place to save the star.

All four seasons can be experienced on Povlen during the day, even in the middle of summer. There are no rules for fog and vistas either. Strong autumn rains and winds clean the air, so from the peaks of Povlen you can see the peaks of Durmitor, Kopaonik, Fruška Gora, the tower on Avala, the Eastern Towers of Belgrade building... Four dominant winds blow over the mountain. These are "Bosniak" from the west, "Severac" from the north, "Ustoka" from the east and "Jugo" from the south. Ustoka brings a change of weather, and Jugo in a couple of days takes snow in the spring, which reaches a height of up to 50 cm.

Mrka stena vidikovac
